Untitled zine with snake doodle
$10.00

This untitled zine, featuring a snake doodle on the cover, was shoot in Los Banos, California, on February 16th of 2025. It was slowly pieced together over the course of about a month, in an edition of 61 copies. Each zine is unique and hand collated in a different sequence, with color paper randomly shuffled during the printing process, and every cover was hand-drawn.
For years, I've chosen to ride my bike as much as possible instead of driving, which has given me a unique perspective on our roads and allowed me to notice things that 99% of drivers overlook. One such thing is called "tar snakes," referring to the wavy, black lines of crack sealant often used to repair asphalt cracks.
The symbolic meaning of snakes varies greatly across cultures and contexts, ranging from symbols of fertility, rebirth, healing, and wisdom to representations of evil, temptation, and the underworld.
My thought here was to simply embrace my obsession with tar snakes, photograph them, and create a zine in an experimental way, without being overly critical of the outcome. I just wanted to have fun—and I did.
